BURMESE

cats
Much of the history of the Burmese cat is unknown, however they can be traced back to a Dr. Josheph Thompson in United States who in 1930 returned with a female cat of unknown origin from Burma. She was mated to a Seal Point Siamese and from then the Burmese origin begins.

cats
Originally the recognised colour for Burmese was a rich brown but dilutions have become acceptable, for example Blue, Champagne and Cream. The Blue Burmese is a soft silver grey with slightly darker back and tail, and has a distinct sheen on the ears, face and feet. Nose and paw pads are blue-grey. The eyes vary from yellow to gold. The Champagne or also known as Chocolate Burmese was discovered in the late 1960's and is today one of the most popular colours. They have a warm milk chocolate colour coat and the mask and ears may be a slightly deeper colour. The eyes vary from yellow to gold but the deeper shade is preferable.

cats
Burmese cats are intelligent, friendly, active and are very outgoing. They are very people orientated and make affectionate pets. They are an easy breed to look after having a short glossy coat that requires little grooming. They are medium sized, well muscled, however an extremely elegant and charming cat.
