This breed dates back to the 1950's, and has the distinctive curled/waved fur appearance.
They have huge ears high on the head, slender yet muscular bodies, long straight legs, and unusually curly whiskers and eyebrows. The tail is rather thin and covered in waves or curls as well. They have small egg shaped heads with high cheekbones, strong chin and a high bridged nose.
By nature the Cornish Rex is intelligent, alert and likes to be cuddled. They are extremely affectionate and sociable. Because of their muscular bodies and well-developed hips they are very active and like to run and jump. This active quality they possess lasts a lifetime and are perfect companion for an owner who wants an active cat to participate in family life.
They are relatively easy to maintain and shed hair little. They do require brushing every so often. Their coat is incredibly soft to touch and lies close to the body.
They come in an enormous range of colours including white, black, blue, red, cream, smoke and silver. |
