They are a large cat, with a very placid and gentle nature. They are a semi-long hair breed of cat, therefore their coats do not require as much grooming as some of the long hair breeds.

They come in a variety of colours- colour pointed, mitted and bicolour with coat colours of chocolate, seal, blue and lilac. A good contrast of colour between the points and the body colour is desirable in the breed standard.

A great pet for those looking for a placid indoor companion.
